CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Psalm 34)
Leader: I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
PEOPLE: My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.
Leader: magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
PEOPLE: I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Leader: Look to him, and be radiant, so your faces shall never be ashamed.
PEOPLE: O taste and see that the LORD is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.
INVOCATION
God of all, we come before you today to worship your message of love and grace to all creation. We ask you to open our hearts and minds to your word, and to be mindful of those who are not here today but are with us in spirit as we pray in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.
**OPENING HYMN “Spirit of God, Descend Upon My Heart” Red #290
CALL TO CONFESSION
Throughout each one of our lives, we do good work but we still fail in our faith and we sin. Let us come together as we confess our sins and seek greater understanding.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Creator God, help to guide us on pathways of understanding and forgiveness as we reach to your messages in scripture, for our lives in this world, and for our hopes for a better life for all in this life and in the life everlasting by the resurrection of our savior. Amen.
(a moment for silent personal confession)
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
The mercy and forgiveness of our Lord is as infinite as the skies and more plentiful than the stars. In the name of our savior, we are forgiven. Amen

**AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – APOSTLES CREED (Adapted by John Redman)
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was born of a young peasant woman, trained as a carpenter, and baptized by His cousin John. He taught many, He healed many, and He angered many. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He defeated death and He offers us grace and love in the name of God the Father Almighty; from that time through all time to come. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit; the universal Church of Christ; the Communion of sharing our gifts with others; the forgiveness of our sins; the Grace of God’s love, and that each soul may have life everlasting. Amen.
**HYMN OF PRAISE “To God Be the Glory” Red #72
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Gracious God, keep in our hearts all those whose names you already know and who ask for healing in their own quiet ways, let us pray together as our redeemer taught us, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
It is right to share our abundance with those who have less or need more. May what we offer here help to be the answer of the prayers of others in the name of Jesus, Amen.
